Over three thousand 852 operations were carried out so far this year in Manzanillo Ophthalmology Center, which has improved the quality of life of patients in the area called Guacanayabo.
The higher incidence of diseases are cataracts, glaucoma, pterygium and oculoplastics, with the largest number of surgical intervention.
It is notable that there are already 25 recipients with corneal transplants, and the great impact of laser treatment in different eye diseases
In the center of Manzanillo Ophthalmology patients attending Campechuela, Yara, Bartolome Maso, Media Luna, Niquero and Pilon and other municipalities Granma and the country.
During the eleven months of the current year the center has handled more than 20 000 cases with conditions of the eye.
